PWTC, 27th October – UTM International Business School (UTM IBS), incollaboration with Globalevent Asia has conducted the National Conference on National Conference on Leadership Transformation ; Leading Transformative Change in the Public Sector Leadership Capacity and Competence.
The conference started with the welcoming speech by YBhg. Tan Sri Prof. Dr. Zulkefli A. Hassan, the Conference Chairman. YBhg. Tan Sri Abdul Halim Ali, the university’s Chairman Board of Directors was called to officiate the ceremony.
Special Keynote Address was delivered by The Honorable Professor Emeritus Akira Nakamura from Graduate School of Governance Studies Meiji University, Japan. Almost 200 participants turned up for this event and most of them are executives from the public sector.
Panel speakers who came during the paper presentation sessions were YBhg. Dato’ Mohamad Zabidi Zainal, Director of MAMPU, Mr. Terry Lee from Leadership Psychology Australia, Mr. Chris Fenney from Training Edge Asia Singapore, YBhg. Datuk Dr. Mohd Tap Salleh, President Malaysia Institute of Integrity and Dr. Ravi Paul, Principal Consultant for Worldwide Corporate Resources.
These speakers have vast knowledge and experience in the public sector. Their presentation touched the issues of making GTP a lasting success through improved leadership and public service management efficiency and effectiveness.
The conference has successfully addressing its objectives which is to explore the effectiveness of the current leadership practices in Malaysia’s Public Sector and to compare with some best practices that can be adapted.
