Course Description and Goals for Series 1

The case-method is an active learning platform that facilitates in-depth experien-tial learning of strategies, tools and approaches for addressing the unique chal-lenges of businesses. It fosters analytical and managerial thinking and develops decision-making skills through stimulating actual managerial contexts in the case.

This program develops skills of teaching and developing class materials that meet the demands and needs of businesses today. It is designed for instructors in the private and public sectors who are responsible for training and educating organiza-tion managers and leaders. The case approach provides practice of important workplace skills namely decision making and communication, good teamwork and co-operation, ability to meet tough deadlines and respect for a diversity of opin-ions. Teaching through case method provides students a mean to acquire manage-rial skills while keeping abreast with the current business practice.

 

Course Description and Goals for Series 2

This program is a follow-up to the first series whereby participants were asked to prepare case plan which were then reviewed to ensure that it can be developed into caselets. The renowned Prof. Dr. Zainal Abidin Mohamed, president of the Case Writer’s Association of Malaysia, will be the main facilitator in this session and will lead the critique sessions.
