AHIBS undergraduate Marketing students accompanied by their lecturers have embarked on the “Community Engagement Program: Re-Use for 2nd Chance” with Year 6 students of SK Taman Kota Kulai. This environmental awareness program was organized by the final year students undertaking Green Marketing and Social Marketing courses, AHIBS Alumni Committee, in collaboration with SWM Environment Sdn. Bhd. and Majlis Perbandaran Kulai.
This is also part of Academic Service Learning component under the UTM New Academic Learning Innovation (NALI) for Green Marketing and Social Marketing class projects. Key activities during the event include a knowledge sharing session by the expert from SWM, recycle and reuse exhibitions by UTM and SWM, waste-to-wearable DIY and pitching competition, as well as 3R tree mural painting by UTM students as a gift to the school.
All in all, a happy day for everyone! An involvement of 88 energetic Year 6 students, 17 final year Marketing students, 7 AHIBS lecturers as lead facilitators, as well as representatives from SWM and MPKu. It’s a wrap! Inshaallah till the next great collaboration between the university, community, industry and agency 🤝
