On 22 April, a group of 35 AHIBS Bachelor of Accounting students accompanied by Dr Noriza Mohd Jamal (Program Director) and Dr Nor Hamimah Mastor (Head of Accounting Panel) went for an educational field trip to one of the offices of the Big 4 audit firms, Ernst & Young (EY). This practical approach is a great opportunity to get out of the classroom and be exposed to real world experience as an auditor working in a global firm. The office is located at Medini 9, Iskandar Puteri, which is known as one of the strategic locations for doing business as it is turning into a business centre of Johor Bahru. The newly renovated office is able to accommodate around 150 staff at once, has an open-styled office, where anyone can sit anywhere they wish. The staff practise clear-the-table policy, which they have to pack up their belongings whenever they complete their job for the day, and put them away in designated lockers. This is to enable others to occupy the empty desks whenever they come to office the following day. During the visit, the students and lecturers were greeted by Ms Felicia, Human Resource Manager in Ernst & Young Johor office. A talk about the firm was also being delivered by Ms Judy, Ernst & Young Talent Recruiter. The visit ended with a game session between the students and an office tour by Ernst & Young staff.
