Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maizaitulaidawati Md Husin

Dr. Mai is a dedicated academic with a profound passion for Islamic banking and finance. With over 12 years of experience in teaching and supervision, she is recognised for her expertise in the field. Dr. Mai earned her PhD in Islamic Economics from the University of Malaya, alongside an MSc in Banking and a BBA in Finance. She holds a certificate in FinTech for Finance and Business Leaders from the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and is also a Certified Islamic Financial Planner. Currently, Dr. Mai serves as the Head of Department (Business Administration) at Azman Hashim International Business School, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. In this role, she oversees the strategic and operational direction of the institution’s academic and administrative functions, including staff development, to ensure that faculty goals align with the overall organisation’s vision. Her leadership is underscored by her involvement in more than 30 consultancy and research projects, collectively valued at over RM10 million. A prolific writer, Dr. Mai has authored over 100 scholarly works, including research papers, book chapters, and journal articles. Beyond her professional endeavours, she finds joy in spending quality time with family and friends, enjoying music, reading, travelling, and exploring the outdoors.
