SOCIETAL IMPACT

As an action-centric graduate business school in the developing context of Malaysia and South East Asia, AHIBS occupies a central role in the eco-system of positive transformation of public and private sectors as well as the general society. Since its beginning, the school has worked to impart students with elements of social conscience and commitment through its MBA, DBA and PhD programs.

ACTION, PURPOSE AND POSITIVITY

Red serves as the primary color in this logo, symbolizing the passion, energy, and power behind driving positive change. The blue and orange spiraling dots within the design form an interconnected network, visually conveying the idea that diverse stakeholders are working together in harmony and enthusiasm to bring about change.

These elements represent collaboration, synergy, and creativity, echoing the principles of sustainability and collective effort. The dynamic composition also suggests the constant evolution of agents within the network, highlighting that change is driven by collective actions of individuals and organisations. This logo inspires a sense of purpose and determination in achieving sustainable change through the combined efforts of the network’s ever-evolving agents.

AHIBS IMPACT STATEMENT

AHIBS shall foster ACTIONS as a way to consistently embracing innovation by instilling change agent methodologies and mindset that results in positive transformation. Our paradigm is vest on positive change. We aim to develop an eco-system of change agents among our students, staff and partners (organizations and institutions) who will improve the lives of specific target groups of stakeholders namely the micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and marginalized communities. We define the two communities as pocket societies which are still impoverished in terms of knowledge, skills, resources and networks to advance their professional interests and economic well-being. In achieving this, we will continue to engage with public and private partners namely industry corporates, government agencies and nongovernmental organizations for support and funding. In tandem with our vision, our focus for impact through ACTIONS encompasses locals and could be those beyond Malaysia. To effect these beneficial improvements, the school has decided to concentrate on SDG 1 (Zero Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 8 (decent work and economic growth). We will drive ACTIONS through our curriculum, research and services to respective communities.

CONCLUSION

ACTIONS is a journey. To be a part of a regional societal transformation, we have to be first, strong at the national level. It requires a comprehensive, consistent and integrated effort in which business schools such as AHIBS should be a part of this move.

As we embark on our Societal Impact Action Plan, we are mustering a total commitment of both internal and external stakeholders to contribute meaningfully to the betterment of society at large.

Together, we aspire to nurture boldly noble leaders who reflect the very best of our business education practices and the profound impact it can have on the world beyond its walls.
