Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nor Aiza Mohd Zamil

Dr. Nor Aiza Mohd Zamil is an Associate Professor at the Azman Hashim International Business School (AHIBS), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM). She holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and Finance from Cardiff Business School, United Kingdom, and has over two decades of academic and professional experience in accounting, finance, and governance. Her expertise includes Islamic finance, corporate governance, banking performance, and sustainability reporting, through which she has made significant scholarly and practical contributions nationally and internationally. Dr. Nor Aiza has led and participated in numerous international and national research projects, including Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) programs focusing on family business development, green entrepreneurship, and research excellence. Collaborating with partner universities across Europe and ASEAN, her work has strengthened international linkages and promoted knowledge transfer between academia, industry, and communities. She has also served as principal investigator and co-researcher for projects funded by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), UTM, and international bodies, exploring Shariah governance, corporate sustainability, and entrepreneurial empowerment. Her research has been widely published in academic and peer-reviewed journals on Islamic banking, corporate governance, ESG disclosure, and financial performance. She also serves on editorial and review boards of international journals. An experienced supervisor and mentor, Dr. Nor Aiza has guided numerous Ph.D., DBA, and MBA candidates, many of whom now serve as academics, consultants, and industry leaders. Actively involved in capacity-building, consultancy, and community initiatives, she champions digital financial literacy, corporate sustainability, and inclusive entrepreneurship for local communities and vulnerable groups.
