Eligibility Criteria:

  • Work Experience: minimum 25 years of work experience required for doctoral level of study. Applicants who do not meet the stated minimum years of work experience, but have relevant learning experience, can be considered on a case-by-case basis by the highest academic body (e.g. the Senate) of the HEP.
  • Prior Learning: Demonstrated learning from formal, non-formal, or informal experiences.
  • Portfolio Submission: Comprehensive documentation of prior learning and achievements.

DBA APEL.Q Structure:

For the DBA APEL.Q learners only requires to enrolled a total of 4 compulsory capstone (research-related) courses that include dissertation

DBA APEL.Q Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

  1. Is there an age limit for applying for DBA APEL.Q?

APEL.Q does not have a specified age limit. However, APEL.Q does set a minimum 25 years of work experience required for doctoral level of study. Applicants who do not meet the stated minimum years of work experience, but have relevant learning experience, can be considered on a case-by-case basis by the highest academic body (e.g. the Senate) of the HEP.

  1. Is DBA APEL.Q limited to Malaysian citizens only?

No. APEL.Q applications are open to  both Malaysian and international candidates.

  1. What are the DBA APEL.Q fees?

The DBA APEL.Q program fees is RM53,300.00 for local and RM69,154.00 for international candidates.

  1. How many times is a student allowed to re-sit an assessment?

Students are given few attempts to redeem a failed status in any mode of assessment. For Portfolio up to 2 attempts and for FVV if students fail to achieve 50%, they can appeal to reevaluate certain PLOs. If unsuccessful, they must retake the FVV assessment. For Challenge test up to 2 attempts.

  1. How to apply DBA APEL.Q?

Candidates are required to fill up the MQA APEL.Q form provided by MQA. Upon submission, the approved application will be forwarded to UTM, and the application process with UTM will then commence.
